Bushman, the largest ape in captivity, was
brought from Africa by Frank Buck. Arrived
in the United States in 1926 and later bought
by the Chicago Lincoln Park Zoo for $3,600.
In 1930 Bushman weighed 38 pounds. Today
he is 61/2 ft. tall and weighs 530 pounds and
is valued at $100,000.
