The picture on this card represents the Ewe or female of the domesticated sheep which is common to our fields. The smallest of the sheep kind is the Breton sheep, while one of the largest is the Leicester breed. Spanish or Merino Sheep are noted for the long fine wool they give, while the Cretan Variety is remarkable for its long and magnificent horns. The Sheep family is a very large one, and its is impossible to mention but one or two species.
