"The model hotel of the Hudson Valley"
Received its name from the beginnings of the city. In 1708, a
small band of people came hither under a grant from Queen Anne
of England, in search of freedom. They were driven from their homes
on the Palatinate of the Rhine--so they were called the Palatines.
