GEORGE WASHINGTON was born in Westmoreland
Co., Virginia, Feb. 22, 1732 and was fifty-seven years of age
when inaugurated President. In politics he was a Federal, but
was chosen Chief Magistrate by the unanimous vote of the
electors and guided the young republic through the first trying
years of its history. He died Dec. 14, 1799.
