NEW YORK PRODUCE MARKET
For the week ending AUG. 6, '81, by
BUTLER BROS. & CO.,
Commission
Merchants,
WASHINGTON & WARREN STS.
EGGS. Trade in Eggs still continues to be very unsatisfactory.
Good stock
owing to the very heavy losses on Western stock.
meets with a fair demand at good prices, the question of qual-
ty being more considered than prices.
BUTTER. Fine Butter is still advancing and we look for a firm
market for some time to come. We expect to get 28c. next
week for the best Creamery,
CHEESE. There has been a little farther decline in Cheese this
week, and considerable money lost by dealers, as many lots cost
more in the country than they would bring here. Buyers will
probably be shy next week, and we think our shippers would do
well to send their Cheese on commission, as receipts have not
been heavy and stock has been well cleaned up. Ohio flats are
particularly scarce, and worth nearer the price of fine state than
usual.
Exports.
