Charles M. Braga Memorial Bridge passing
through Fall River, Mass. on Route 195 was
built by American Bridge, Division of United
States Steel Corp. It is 1.1 mile long, has 26
spans, of cantilever construction, Truss is 1,606
feet long, with center span of 838 feet 8 inches
and two identical side spans 381 feet 8 inches.
Main span will clear channel by 135 feet. Will
carry six lanes of traffic and cost $22 million.
This bridge is like another spoke in a wheel
bringing all roads to the hub of a great city.
