operating in 1973 in the foothills of upcountry South Carolina.
One of the nation's most efficient, the three-unit plant
produces 2,580,000 kilowatts of electricity.
Next door at the Keowee-Toxaway Visitors Center (free, open
daily), guests can explore energy exhibits and even crank out
electricity themselves.
