Houses of Parliament and Government Avenue. The
Come of the Colony's legislators is situated at the foot of
Government Avenue, an avenue of stately oaks, planted by
the Dutch in the early days. It is a structure of red
bricks, with succo pillars and facings, which give it a warm
and pleasing effect. Within its walls many a noisy scene
and important debate have occurred which have helped to
make history.
