The State Capitol of Nevada is in Carson City. The
State has an area of 110,700 square miles, and was admitted
to the Union in 1864. Nevada takes its name from its
principal chain of mountains, which derived their appella-
tion from the Sierra Nevadas of Granada in Spain.
