THE HALF MOON. A reproduction of the
ship in which Hudson first entered the Hud-
son River, September 12th, 1609. Built at Rotter-
dam, by patriotic citizens of Holland, for the
Hudson-Fulton Celebration. Length, 74.54 feet;
width, 16.94 feet; tonnage, 80. The "gallery"
under the bowsprit received the full force of the
seas and was used by Hudson to expose unruly
seamen.
