Dominating the main approach to the Duke University
campus is the 210 foot chapel tower. On the sides of
the chapel approach are the Union and the Library. In
o the tower of the chapel is a 50-bell carillon, and the
ż four-manual chapel organ contains 7,791 pipes. One
of the outstanding edifices in America, the chapel was
dedicated in 1935. Its stained glass, sculpture, and wood
and iron work are notable.
