MALE: FEMALE HAS SHORTER TAIL AND NO AIR SACS ON THE NECK
Resident from northern Michigan to eastern Oregon north to north-central
Alaska; formerly to northeastern California, western Kansas, and northern
Illinois. Prefers brushy parklands to open prairie. In the spring it has a com-
munal "dancing ground where the males assemble to perform bizarre court-
ship rituals.
