7A-HI746
Back:
The natives of the Southern Appalachian Moun-
tains are noted for their many handicrafts which
have been handed down from generation to genera-
tion Almost every community has some individual
or family who devote all or part of their time to
the making of hooked rugs, baskets, weaving, etc.
The man shown here is working on one of the
many designs of hooked rugs and using the old
fashioned tools usually employed by The Mountain
Rug Makers.
