Old pioneer village of 300 years ago. It was in
this type of building our forefathers went through
hardship and disaster. Note cabins deteriorating
because
next generation wished to
live
different life. Their home is humble, but sweet and
they are free Americans.
Here set on the hillside is the second period of
American Home construction with the steps leading
down to the stream for they had no water in the
house, and a pump was a luxury. To the left is
a Lime Kiln which was used to burn limestone for
sweetening the virgin soil and for building pur-
poses. In the rear see the Bee Hives which
gave them the only means of sweetening and the
making of medicines.
