The Alpine Ski Lift, designed and patented by E. Constam, Switzer-
land, and built by John A. Roebling's Son, Trenton, N.J., is being erected
on the northside of "Little Pico," the intermediate summit between the base
of the open slope area and Pico Peak. The line of ascent is 2,330 feet with a
vertical rise of 644 feet. The speed of the lift is 500 feet per minute.
The outstanding feature of the Alpine Lift is capacity. It is being con-
structed at "Little Pico" for a capacity of 1200 skiers per hour, but is
being equipped with enough carriers this year for 625 per hour. There
are 28 of the Constam Lifts in central Europe.
