The colors of Our National Emblem are Red, White and
Blue. The white stars in the blue field represent the exact
number of states in the Union, while the alternating red
and white stripes denote the original number of states that
formed the Union at the time the Continental Congress
adopted it for the official flag of the United States of
America in 1777.
