Famous Southwestern Outlaw
Began his career of crime at the age of 12 years
in Silver City, N. M. Was one of the gang in
the notorious Lincoln County wars between rival
factions of “Cattle Kings" of the 1870's.
Many books have been written describing his
checkered career. He was killed by Sheriff Pat
Garrett in the old
the old Pete Maxwell house, Fort
Sumner, N. M. in 1881, and his grave may still
be seen at Old Fort Sumner.
