OLD MAN OF THE MOUNTAINS
This most famous of all natural profiles known to man was undoubtedly
formed during the latter part of the post-glacial period, from 2,000 to 10,000
years ago, but was not discovered by white men until 1805. The face, which
measures 48 feet from forehead to chin, is 1200 feet above Profile Lake, and
3200 feet above sea level.
