Historic Bonaventure, Savannah, on the Wil
mington River, five miles from the center of the
city. About 1760 was the home of Colonel John
Mullryne, a noted militant Tory. Since 1847 it
has been a burial ground and is noted as one of
the most beautiful spots in all the South. Huge
evergreen trees heavily festooned with Spanish
moss give the place a fairyland beauty.
