THE UNITED STATES MARINES
America may well glory in her Marines, for in
the early days of June, 1918, they made their
first great charge at Château-Thierry, at
Bouresches, and at Veuilly-la-Poterie. Here
they pressed forward, their colors flying,
writing indelibly along the River Marne the
words "American Marines.
The American Fund for French Wounded
knows that this group of men who led in the
first great charge, will form a precious souvenir
to every mother who has sent a Marine to
France.
