H.R.H. The Prince of Wales (Edward, Albert,
Christian, George, Andrew, Patrick, David,) was born
at White Lodge, Richmond, June 23rd, 1894, Prince of
Wales and Earl of Chester, Duke of Cornwall, Duke
of Rothesay, Earl of Carrick, Baron of Renfrew,
Lord of the Isles and Great Steward of Scotland.
High Steward of Windsor, K.G., G.M.M.G., G.M.B.E.,
M.C., Personal A.D.C. to H.M. The King, Col. Welsh
Guards, Col.-in-Chief Duke of Cornwall's Light
Infantry Col.-in-Chief Royal Wilts Yeomanry, Col.-
in-Chief Cadet Corps of U.K., a Captain R.N., and
Col. Grenadier Guards, he was attached to Field
Marshal French's staff in France and served
throughout the war where as H.R.H. himself
expressed it at the Mansion House
"In those four years I mixed with men.
In those four years I found my manhood."
In 1919 he visited Canada and the United States
and by his manly cheerfulness. unassuming manner,
and unfailing courtesy won the hearts of all with
whom he came in contact.
