Gen. Sam Houston planted this Pecan Tree
at his home in Huntsville. Today, after more
than 75 years, it is still thriving and productive,
having grown into a pecan tree of patriarchal
spread. It shades the modest Sam Houston
home, a living link between our time and early
days in Texas.
