MONTANA.
The sun never shone on a country more fair
Than beautiful, peerless, Montana.
There's life in a kiss of her rarified air,
Montana, Montana, Montana!
Her sons are valiant and noble and bright,
Her beautiful daughters are just about right;
The babies, God bless them, are clear out of sight,
The crop never fails in Montana.
Our homes are alight with a halo of love,
Montana, beautiful Montana!
We bask in the smiles of the heavens above,
No cloud ever darkens Montana.
Our grain waves as billows of gold in the sun,
The fruits of our orchards are equalled by none,
Our pumpkins, some of them. weigh more than a ton
We challenge the world in Montana.
Our girls are sweet models of maidenly grace,
In our beautiful State of Montana.
They are perfect in figure and lovely in face,
That's just what they are in Montana.
Their smiles are bewildering and awfully sweet.
Their dresses are stylish, yet modest and neat.
A Trilby would envy their cute little feet,
In this modern Eden, Montana.
And when the trials of life I am called to lay down.
I hope I may die in Montana.
I never could ask a more glorious crown,
Than one of the sod of Montana.
And when the last trump wakes the land and sea,
And the tombs of the earth set their prisoners free,
You may all go aloft if you choose, but for me---
I think I will stay in Montana.
