Front:
WHEN THE SUN SHINES HIGH
IN THE SUN SHINE STATE
On that highway looking west
High above the Pecos and Artesia
To the foothills in the mountains
The sun is going down.
Like the Northern Lights got their reflection
From the ice that causes that illumination
In the night in their glory what a sight.
The same thing prevails in this enchanted land,
When the evening shadows come on,
The colors of the earth below arise in the sky,
And cause that reflection and illumination,
That makes the sky so grand
A Paradise in the sky
While the sun still shines high
In that clear blue sky.
What makes the sky so grand
In this enchanted landl more than any other land
It's the climate, it's the air and the atmosphere that
prevails
That makes the sky so grand in this enchanted land
When the sun still shines high in the sky.
In the land of enchantment
It's also in the sky
When the sun is shining high in the sky
Till it reaches its own horizon in the sky
Then again a clear blue 'sky.
The sun shining high is seen from Artesia
The greatest little city
In the sunshine state of New Mexico
It's known far and widle
For its beauty its climate and sunshine.
In the Pecos river valley
The garden spot of New Mexico
Where the Pecos river flows, where the cotton, alfalfa
And the oil wells flow,
