The famous terraces found in Yellow-
stone National Park are formed by the
deposit from the overflow of the hot
springs. They form in the shape of
bowls or platters, side by side and tier
above tier, in all colors. When the
water has ceased to flow over the ter-
races the beautiful tinted stalactites
that hang from the terraces lose their
lovely colors and turn to an ashen pale.
