One of the most beloved Presidents of the United
States, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, was the first presi-
dent in the nation's history to be elected for four
consecutive terms of office. Born in Hyde Park,
N. Y... January 30, 1882, FD.R. dealt with politics
and law until he was stricken with infantile paralysis
in August of 1921.
Recovering partial use of his legs, F.D.R. returned to
politics and was elected Governor of New York for
two terms in 1928
Defeating Herbert Hoover in the 1932 elections
F.D.R. held his presidency for 13 years, ended by
his untimely death on April 12, 1945 at Warm
Springs, Georgia.
