One of the first things a Scout should know is the easiest way to
carry a person who is helpless. What is known as the fireman's lift
will enable a Scout to do this with the least possible fatigue. When
more than one Scout is available a stretcher may be made by taking
two coats and passing the staffs or poles through the coats after they
have been buttoned and turned inside out.
