Complete and modern to the finest detail,
yet retentive of the architectural style so
evident during the Revolutionary War, is
the unique, distinctive feature enjoyed by
Delaware's State House in Dover. The original
building was erected in 1792 at a cost of a
little more than $10,000.00 but additions and
improvements have raised the entire cost to
approximately $135,000.00. The materials
used in the construction of the main building
were brick and wood, so all the additions
have adhered to the precedent and maintain-
ed the atmosphere of coloniality throughout.
