British Graveyard on Ocracoke Island is the resting place of
four British Navy seamen whose bodies washed ashore from the
HMS Bedfordshire, torpedoed by a German submarine May 14, 1942.
It is under a lease agreement with the State of North Carolina
from the British Government.
