The Boston Public Garden celebrates the 100th
Anniversary of its' famous Swan Boats with
selections from Swan Lake danced by The Boston
Ballet's captivating Javanese
Javanese Ballerina Durinè
Alinova. Introduced in 1877, these decorative,
foot powered craft are now a Boston tradition and
popular with young and old alike. 1877 was also
the year that Swan Lake was first performed in
Moscow. The present owner of the boats is the
same family that first launched them a century ago
