Sr August 1907 Baden-Powell, with 20 boys,
held the first Scout Camp and the site chosen
was on Brownsea Island in Poole Harbour,
Dorset. It was in the nature of an experiment
and from this “trial" Camp the World Brother-
- hood of Scouts has steadily grown and is
today over seven million strong.
The Island is now a Nature Conservation
Reserve and a suitable area (including the site
