WARD COUNTY COURT HOUSE
Monohans, Texas
In the heart of Monohans stands a pioneer
building which houses the Hayes Museum. Here
is a collection of fossil remains, artifacts, and
relics from the ruins of a large wagon train
that at some unknown date was destroyed by
Indians at nearby Willow Springs. Five miles
east of Monohans lies the Monohans Sandhills
State Park. Amateur archaeologists continue to
find many Indian artifacts that have been cov-
ered for centuries by the shifting sands.
