"Smilin' Through," Home of Arthur Penn
Mr. Penn and his wife made Block Island their
home for many years before his death. It was here
that Mr. Penn wrote his famous and favorite song
"Smilin' Through," and named this house in honor
of it. The homestead is still preserved in its orig-
inal quaintness by its present owners.
