THIS IS THE MOTTO OF THE
BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA.
This view shows a troop of Boy Scouts, who won
first prize at a recent Field Day Meet. A troop consists of
three or more patrols; each patrol consists of eight boys and a
leader. The leader is called Scout Master. Before a boy
can become a scout he must become proficient in swimming
(at least 50 yards) send a message by Semaphore. First Aid,
Cook, read a map correctly, make field notes, judge ten
species of trees, how to track, find the North Star, name and
describe three constillations of the stars and many other things.
