JOT everyone who may wish to can become a member of the Stony Brook Association, nor
may those eligible as stockholders subscribe as much stock as they please. The wise policy
of the management has provided for a carefully restricted and select ownership; and though
it is the purpose to have members in every State of the Union, invitations are sent only to
those whose social character makes them desirable associates in such an organization. For
that reason the Association has refused offers that would have closed out the stock to per-
sons anxious to gain control of the enterprise because of the financial profits it assures. The letter
enclosing this card would not have been addressed to you had you not been placed on the list of those
eligible for membership, and the Association's Illustrated Booklet will be mailed to you free, promptly
upon receipt of this card properly filled in. Please write very plainly:
"The scheme of development, pre-
pared by Landscape Architect Lowrie,
presents a layout of rare beauty. The
auditorium, standing upon an eleva-
tion at the head of a wide parked
avenue, will be an attractive feature.
The directors are planning to make it
one of the most comfortable audience
rooms in the country. About this centre
there will be gathered attractive cot-
tages and bungalows, each having suf-
ficient ground to prevent the crowding
that has proved so objectionable else-
where."-N. Y. Sun, Sept. 13, 1908.
