THE MARRIAGE OF POCAHONTAS
Pocahontas was a celebrated Indian princess,
daughter of Powhatan. She was converted to
Christianity in 1613, when she was baptised
and christened Rebecca.
In April, 1614, she was married to John Rolfe,
an English colonist who came to Jamestown
in 1610, with whom, two years later, she went
to England, where she was received with great
enthusiasm as the daughter of an American
"King."
