THE SANTA FE BRIDGE across the Color-
ado River. The cantilever bridge at Needles,
California, is the second largest in America. Its
clear span is 660 feet. The rock spires in the
distance are known as The Needles. They form
the head of the beautiful Mojave Canyon into
which the river plunges.
