Kilauea volcano on Hawaii is the most
accessible volcano in the world. On the banks
of its crater is situated the Volcano House
and near by are the sulphur baths from
natural vapor cracks. The circumference of
the crater 7.85 miles and encloses an area of
2650 acres. The remarkably deep pit of the
extinct crater Kilauea-iki, a mile and a half
to the volcano house, is easily reached. A
splendid automobile road goes to the brink
of the crater.
