LA.-The Haunted House, which is located at
Royal and Hospital streets, was occupied in 183
by Mme. Lalaurie, who treated her slay
great cruelty, starving and torturing Nom
death. Her barbarous acts being mas
to the public, she was forced to flee FEB 22
where she subsequently died. Many sesswPM
chained in this building and after her fight, hu-
man bones were found in the rooms. t is said
that ghosts of the murdered slaves can be se
dark and stormy nights. The building is o
occupied by Italian families. The building, which
fronts on Royal Street, is but twelve blocks from
Canal Street.
