SNOW DRIFTS ON PIKE'S PEAK COG ROAD
When the mercury is hovering around 100 in
the East and South, and the nights are almost
as unbearable as the days, there is no place
where more complete relief can be found than in
Colorado. From Manitou it is but a ride of an
hour and thirty-five minutes over the Cog Road
to the everlasting snows at the summit of Pike's
Peak. Here is a view which shows the train
nearing the summit, with the snow-banks many
feet high on either side.
