OLD SAVANNAH THEATRE. This interesting
structure was erected in 1818, and opened on December 4th
of that year, but was rebuilt in 1895. It is located on Bull
Street, facing Chippewa Square, and is one of the oldest theatres
in the United States. It was managed at one time by Joseph
Jefferson, and many famous tragedians and comedians, such
a Booth, McCready, and the Kembles, have acted here.
