37. CURIOUS NATIVE DANCES. This dance is
the social event of the season in a Wa-Tavetah vil-
lage of equatorial Africa. These are members of the
Tribal "Four Hundred," the elite of the village dancing
with their sweethearts. Some of the figures are like
those of our own Virginia Reel, but there are also
many curious native figures, including high jumping
by the men.
