Bryn Mawr College was founded in 1880 by
Dr. Joseph W. Taylor of Burlington, N. J. for
young men and women, who desired to become
teachers. It was formally opened in 1885 upon
completion of Taylor Hall. It was originally under
management of Society of Friends. It is now a
women's college and strictly Non-sectarian. Located
in the town of Bryn Mawr on the outskirts of
Philadelphia.
