THE RAYMOND E. BALDWIN BRIDGE carries the
Boston Post Road over the Connecticut River between Old
Saybrook and Old Lyme, Connecticut The bridge alone
represents an expenditure of about three and one-quarter
millions and provides a modern four lane divided roadway
85 feet above the river channel. It extends 2448 feet
from abutment to abutment and serves traffic for Routes.
U. S. 1, Conn. 80 and Conn. 156. It was opened for
use December 4, 1948 by Governor Baldwin.
