SAINT LOUIS AIRPORT TERMINAL BUILDING
LAMBERT-SAINT LOUIS MUNICIPAL AIRPORT
On Interstate 70 (Mark Twain Expressway)
20 Minutes from Downtown St. Louis
This building erected in 1953-56 has attracted
world wide attention. Its unique design called for
3 original domes 32 ft. x 120 ft. and provided for 3
additional ones as needed. The 4th dome is now
completed. All are without internal supports. The
airport honors St. Louisan Major Albert Bond
Lambert, pioneer aviator instructor of World War
I, and a student of Orville Wright (1909). Major
Lambert was a principal supporter of Charles
Lindbergh.
