Virginia City's oldest saloon. Built in 1862
during the Civil War and was known as the
most elaborately furnished club west of
New York. Many notables belonged to this
club, such as President Grant, Horace Gree-
ley, Mark Twain, John Mackay, Jim Flood,
Adolph Sutro, A. J. Ralston and many others.
