For National Post Card Week May 4-10, 1986, Half Moon Post
Card Club honors Thomas Dexter, shown at club meeting
10-25-85. Born 1899, opening his first printing shop 1920, he
began printing post cards several years later. A process he
developed allowed production of "Natural Color" cards
before WWII. Once the largest card printer, Dexter Press
reached a peak of 4 million cards a day. Selling the business
in 1972, he presently breeds race horses. Photo by Peter
