Tulane University on St. Charles Ave, was
founded in 1884. Paul Tulane donated the
greater part of his fortune, amounting to over
a million dollars. The University owns a tract
of land over a mile in depth and with a front-
age of about 600 feet on the Avenue, 18 acres
have been set aside for a campus. Several fine
buildings have been erected, only two are shown
on this card. (See Lipsher card- "Josephine
