Ocotillo, sometimes called Candlewood,
Coach Whip or Jacob's Staff, has long springy
profusely-barbed stems bearing showy clusters
of flame-red blossoms. The Giant Cactus,
Saguaro or Sahuaro, reaches 40 to 50 feet in
height. Its blossoms are waxen white, while
the fruit which follows is bright red, some-
what like a pomegranate though pear shaped.
