QUEBEC'S GREAT BRIDGE TRAGEDY
View of the most disastrous collapse in the History of Engineering by which on the afternoon of
August 29th., 1907, at twenty-three minutes to six o'clock, the South Cantilever of the Bridge, which
took three years to build and which was to have been a portion of the longest single bridge span ever
constructed, crashed into the St. Lawrence killing 77 workmen and entailing a loss of nearly. $3,000,000.
